Tokyu Land Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Hiroaki Hoshino, hereinafter referred to as "Tokyu Land") and DIGGLE Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Kiyotaka Yamamoto, hereinafter referred to as "DIGGLE") have, through co-creation with DIGGLE, achieved the "horizontal recycling" of interior building materials generated from previous office construction. These materials were re-processed through material recycling into environmentally friendly recycled interior building materials and adopted in another office during the construction work for DIGGLE's relocation to Ebisu Business Tower (Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). This initiative is one of the environmental measures of Tokyu Land's environmental advanced partnership "team green"※1, launched in March 2026, and contributes to the sustainability activities of partner company DIGGLE. Furthermore, as part of Tokyu Land's environmental efforts, forest conservation was also carried out for an area ten times the size of DIGGLE's office construction area.
※1 The environmental advanced partnership "team green" is a co-creative partnership where Tokyu Land and tenant companies that agree with environmental conservation activities work together to solve environmental issues and create value. CO2 Emissions Reduced by 4.7 Tons Through Co-created Horizontal Recycling of Interior Building Materials In the construction work for DIGGLE's relocation, carried out from October 2025 to February 2026, we pioneered the adoption of "horizontal recycling" by using recycled interior building materials (recycled gypsum board, recycled carpet tiles) manufactured from recycled materials. Recycled interior building materials are manufactured using material recycling methods from discarded interior building materials. This reduces the processes of new raw material extraction, processing, transportation, and manufacturing, thereby suppressing CO2 emissions generated during the manufacturing process. In this construction, approximately 4,697 kg of CO2 emissions were reduced※2. Furthermore, Tokyu Land also engages in forest conservation activities corresponding to the actions of its stakeholders. As part of the "team green" environmental measures for this construction, by adopting recycled interior building materials, forest conservation was carried out in Nishi-Awa Village, Okayama Prefecture, covering an area of 4,633 square meters, which is ten times the area of DIGGLE's office construction. This also contributes to the protection of biodiversity and the maintenance of sustainable natural environments in the region. ※2 The "CO2 emission reduction amount" is calculated based on comparative figures provided by the manufacturer against conventional products.
