[The University of Tokyo Metaverse School of Engineering] Applications Open for 2026 Spring Courses! Over 12 Free Courses Scheduled by September

The Junior Course program provided by the University of Tokyo Metaverse School of Engineering (established in September 2022 in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) has begun accepting applications for the 2026 Spring Courses, which will be held from June to September 2026.

Since its inception, the Metaverse School of Engineering Junior Course has opened over 120 courses with more than 54,000 participants. Students have shared positive feedback, noting how the courses helped them discover new fields and assisted in their career choices. The school aims to be a learning haven where everyone, regardless of age, gender, background, or location, can study engineering and information technology to plan their future careers.

Applications are currently open for the following four courses:

1. Introduction to AI Agents
The theme for this term is "AI Agents." The course covers basic concepts, specific usage, and practical examples of generative AI agents that autonomously plan and execute tasks, featuring live demonstrations. Beginners are welcome.

2. Human-AI Interaction: Technology and Design Connecting Humans and AI
This course discusses interface design, technology, and social issues connecting humans and AI, encouraging participants to rethink human-AI relationships. Students will engage in assignments over four sessions to deepen their understanding.

3. Chemistry of Engineering: From the Great Buddha to Smartphones
From atomic-level science to controlling chemical reactions, this course explores common engineering principles. It features small-group discussions with professors and graduate students, including a chemistry quiz created by students.

4. Design x Engineering Workshop 2026s
Explore scientific and engineering approaches to sensibility involved in design. The program includes a hands-on clay workshop and a campus tour of UTokyo's design education facilities for middle and high school students.
