Minamiizu's nature-oriented beauty salon "Mori to Ao." (Location: Minamiizu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture; Representative: Miyoko Nakano) has launched a construction project for a "Raised-Floor Beauty Salon" that visualizes the process of water used in treatments returning to the soil, allowing people to experience the connection between humans and nature.

Starting from 5:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, crowdfunding will be open, and the project aims to create a new space that reconnects the often-separated relationship between daily life and nature.

**We want to create a "Raised-Floor Beauty Salon" in Minamiizu where wastewater returns to nature.**

■ **We want to create a beauty salon that connects people and nature**

In many beauty salons, water used in treatments is processed as wastewater and flows away without being seen. Where does it go? What impact does it have further down the line? In our daily lives, there are not many opportunities to be aware of this.

At "Mori to Ao.", while continuing to use only plant-derived materials for treatments, we began to look at where our activities are connected. This project started by re-examining what has been left unseen.

■ **A beauty salon where you can experience the destination of water**

"Mori to Ao.", a nature-oriented beauty salon, has launched a construction project for a "Raised-Floor Beauty Salon" that visualizes the process of water used in treatments returning to the soil, allowing people to experience the connection between humans and nature.

By making the building a raised-floor structure, space is created underneath the floor, securing pathways for water, air, and microorganisms. Wastewater generated from treatments passes through this underfloor space, and after appropriate processing, connects to the soil.

By feeling the "destination of water" that has been invisible until now, we create a place where the act of beauty itself can be re-evaluated within the cycle of nature.

■ **What happens in this place**

At the Raised-Floor Beauty Salon, you can not only receive beauty treatments using only plants but also experience the flow of water and feel the changes in the soil and air.

These are not special things; they are originally activities that should have been connected as one. Please come and experience them overlapping within the same time, without being separated.

■ **Our journey so far**

"Mori to Ao." has continued to use only plant-based materials for treatments since its opening in 2018. After relocating to Minamiizu, we conducted "Clean & Cut Activities," combining local cleaning activities with beauty, and have continued a gift economy activity where children who participate in beach cleaning receive free haircuts.

We have also worked on regenerating old folk houses, nurturing places where people gather and connections are formed, while maintaining the environment of the land and buildings.

Through these daily efforts, the sense that human activities are also part of nature's flow has gradually begun to take shape.

■ **About "Arranging"**

Until now, we have tried to arrange ourselves by adding something from the outside. However, we sometimes felt a sense of unease with this method.

To look at the whole, including our mind and life, not just a part of the body. To not try to change forcibly, but to restore the original flow. We believe what lies beyond that can be called "arranged" (整う, 'totonou'). This project is an attempt to give shape to that idea.

■ **About Returns**

We have prepared several returns that will allow you to connect with this project. We would be happy if you could connect with this endeavor in your own way.
