Sugimura Seiko Co., Ltd. (Location: Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Representative Director: Manabu Sugimura), a town factory in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, celebrating its 77th anniversary, will introduce trail running caps (hereinafter, trail caps) as part of its heat countermeasures for six months from May to October 2026.

■ Features and Background of Trail Cap Introduction

Due to the nationwide temperature rise in recent years, the importance of heatstroke prevention in workplaces has increased significantly. Last summer, Sugimura Seiko also experienced one work-related accident caused by heatstroke.

Against this background, Sugimura Seiko will introduce trail caps as part of its summer uniform for six months from May to October 2026 as a heat countermeasure.

The introduced caps are a special specification based on existing products from the running gear brand "INNER-FACT," with which the company has previously collaborated on running shirts and neck gaiters, featuring Sugimura Seiko's original logo printed on them.

Trail running is a sport involving various types and terrains, requiring high functionality from its gear to cope with harsh environments. We believe this functionality has a strong affinity with manufacturing sites.

Compared to conventional work hats, they are lighter and more breathable, reducing heat and stuffiness, and contributing to heatstroke prevention during summer work.

A characteristic feature is that the brim is shorter than general caps. This makes it easier to secure peripheral vision, reduces the risk of contact in narrow spaces or around machinery, and contributes to improving safety during work.

■ "Town Factory x Sports" to Disseminate New Value of the Manufacturing Industry

This initiative is part of the "Town Factory x Sports" efforts that we have been promoting since last year.

Workers who move their bodies on-site while maintaining concentration for long periods are truly athletes. We believe that incorporating sports elements has great potential as a means to support such workplaces.

Through collaborations with INNER-FACT, hosting regional futsal events in conjunction with Fujieda MYFC, and internal sports promotion measures, our company has continuously disseminated information from a unique perspective of "Town Factory x Sports."

A series of these activities has led to corporate certifications such as "Shizuoka Sports-in-Life Promotion Partner" and "Sports Yell Company 2026."

We will continue to balance "contributing to employee safety and health" and "changing the image of the manufacturing industry" through sports, with flexible ideas that only a local town factory can offer.

■ Sponsorship of "Fujieda Trail Running"

As a simultaneous initiative, we will sponsor the local "Fujieda Trail Running" event. While providing neck gaiters, which we have been selling in collaboration with INNER-FACT since last year, as participant benefits, we will continue to embody our stance of changing the image of town factories through sports. In Shizuoka, a region active in sports promotion, we intend to continue discovering new value in "Town Factory x Sports."

The recent severe summers have made it increasingly challenging for us who work physically on-site. Protecting the safety and concentration of workers is as important as protecting quality.
