The name "Gyatei (羯諦)" comes from the Heart Sutra's phrase "Go as you wish," and was named by the chief priest of Tenryu-ji Temple. It embodies the desire for guests to "enjoy what they like, as much as they like, with whom they like, while chatting happily."
