Ajino Shofuku, a renowned restaurant in Tenjin, Fukuoka, long beloved by the citizens and residents of Fukuoka as a long-established Hakata cuisine and set meal restaurant, will celebrate its 50th anniversary on May 1, 2026.

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Ajino Shofuku Co., Ltd. (Head office: Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City (Acros Fukuoka B2F), hereinafter "Ajino Shofuku", President: Megumi Yoshioka), which operates the restaurant, will distribute commemorative gifts to all customers who visit and order a set meal on May 1st (Friday) only.

The commemorative gifts are a special teacup (customers can choose one from two types) and a special tea leaf pack, which will be presented to everyone who orders a set meal on that day.

The set meal menu offers a wide variety of dishes, mainly fish dishes such as grilled fish, simmered fish, and sashimi, including the famous Gindara Mirin-yaki Teishoku (grilled black cod with mirin) and Shofuku Gozen.

Ajino Shofuku once had its original main store in Tenjin Core (now ONE FUKUOKA BLDG.) in addition to its current store in Acros Fukuoka, but due to the redevelopment of the building as part of the Tenjin Big Bang project, it was forced to close. The main store has now been relocated to Acros Fukuoka, where it continues to operate.

Furthermore, five years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period when restaurants were severely impacted, the founder passed on the management to the current president, Megumi Yoshioka. This case of non-family succession in a long-established restaurant attracted attention from various quarters.

Last year, the company also launched a recruitment initiative specifically targeting seniors, aiming to create a workplace where people can work with purpose for a long time and enjoy a fulfilling senior life. At the store, staff from three generations, from seniors aiming for lifelong active careers to students, work energetically and cooperatively. Moving forward, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Ajino Shofuku will explore opening new stores (expansion) in the Tenjin and Hakata Station areas, and will further actively recruit and utilize human resources who can take on the responsibility of expanding stores, which are also a resource for the local infrastructure.

We look forward to your continued patronage of Ajino Shofuku.
