[May 10 Mother's Day] World's No. 1 Kimchi Specialty Store "Otsukemono Kei" to Host "Kawasaki Dream Event 2026" Fusing Food and Music!

The world's number one kimchi specialty store "Otsukemono Kei" (operating company: Green Foods Atsumi, headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Kazuyuki Atsumi) will host the "Kawasaki Dream Event 2026" on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Kawasaki Keirin Racecourse West Plaza.

This event, themed "Energizing Kawasaki with Food and Music," will be held in cooperation with local governments and organizations. In addition to live performances by artists and local dance teams, the program includes a karaoke competition to discover future stars, and a lottery that any visitor can participate in. Furthermore, a wide variety of Kawasaki gourmet and hands-on content will gather, aiming to promote Kawasaki's charm and revitalize the region, enjoyable for both adults and children.

Kawasaki Dream Event 2026 Details

Green Foods Atsumi Co., Ltd., founded in 1987 (Showa 62), started as a vegetable wholesaler. In 2003 (Heisei 15), it founded the kimchi specialty store "Otsukemono Kei" after an encounter between its representative director, Kazuyuki Atsumi, a vegetable expert, and Masaru Shirono, a pickling expert who served as chief at Kawasaki's popular yakiniku restaurant "Keihokuen."
Currently, in addition to operating six directly managed stores in Kawasaki City, it also sells its products at department stores, station pop-up events, and major supermarkets.
Furthermore, its products have been selected as Kawasaki City's hometown tax return gifts, "Kanagawa's Top 100 Products," and "Kawasaki Brand Certified Products."

On February 16, 2025, it was certified as a world record holder for kimchi sales volume.
Currently, under the theme "From Kawasaki to the World," it is engaged in activities to promote Kawasaki's specialty kimchi both domestically and internationally.
