Yamato Toujiki Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Masami Yamaguchi), a specialized ceramics trading company with its headquarters and store at "Aritacera," an Aritayaki shopping resort operated by the Aritayaki Wholesale Cooperative, is pleased to announce various commemorative products for the 50th anniversary of the Shin-gama "Seika" brand.
"Seika," launched in 1976, is a brand meaning "indigo and white dyed pottery." It has been cherished for many years as warm, hand-painted pottery featuring motifs such as foreigners and ships, inspired by the "Komōde" style of old Imari ware produced in Arita during the Edo period.
Yamato Toujiki Co., Ltd. has walked alongside the "Seika" brand for 50 years since its inception. To mark this 50th anniversary, we are announcing the following three planned products.
**50th Anniversary Limited Edition Product "Sasurai Ijin" (Wandering Foreigner)**
This is a new design that will be available for a limited period of one year in 2026, commemorating the 50th anniversary of "Seika."
It features a motif of a traveler who appears from somewhere and then departs to somewhere else—a design unique to this single year.
**"Seika" 50th Anniversary Limited "Sasurai Ijin Set"**
10,000 yen (tax included)
*Trays and other accessories are not included.
**Seika Original Kayaori Fukin (Gauze Cloth)**
In collaboration with Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten Co., Ltd. (Nara City, Nara Prefecture), we have created a Seika original design on their popular product, "Kayaori Fukin."
"Kayaori," a traditional craft from Nara, is a thin woven fabric traditionally used for mosquito nets. The fukin (cloth) made by layering cotton kayaori softens with use and boasts excellent water absorbency and durability.
**"Seika" Original Kayaori Fukin**
880 yen (tax included)
**50th Anniversary Commemorative Product "Toki no Kozara" (Small Plates of Time)**
From "Seika," which has continuously focused on hand-painting, a new series has been born that expresses patterns by "carving" rather than "drawing."
The accumulation of 50 years of "time" (Toki) is captured in these small vessels.
Representative motifs like foreigners and ships are expressed through shading created by the depth of the carving. When soy sauce is poured in, the contrast becomes more prominent, and the patterns emerge.
This is a new expression of "Seika," born at the 50-year milestone.
**Toki no Kozara (Small Plates of Time)**
1,650 yen each (6 types available)
**Original Kayaori Fukin Present Campaign**
During the Arita Ceramic Fair from April 29 (Wed/Holiday) to May 5 (Tue/Holiday), 2026, and the Web Arita Ceramic Fair from April 25 (Sat) to May 6 (Wed/Holiday), 2026, customers who purchase the "Sasurai Ijin Set" will receive one original Kayaori Fukin as a gift.
The above products will be sold at Yamato Toujiki stores within Aritacera, and some products will also be available at Shin-gama Co., Ltd. (2788 Hei, Kuromuta, Arita-cho) store.
