Japan OECD Joint Research "Education and AI" Global Knowledge Sharing Series 1st Event: OECD Digital Education Outlook 2026 - Understanding International Trends in the Use of Generative AI in Education

The Japan OECD Joint Research will hold a program on Sunday, April 26, 2026, to commemorate the launch of the Japanese version of the OECD Digital Education Outlook 2026 and to share the latest insights on education and AI.

Through reports from the OECD and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), we will overview the policy and research trends in the utilization of generative AI in education both domestically and internationally, as well as provide a commentary on the Japanese version of the publication. In the second half, participants will engage in a practical workshop to effectively incorporate generative AI into their own classes and training.

This program is the first in the Japan OECD Joint Research "Education and AI" Global Knowledge Sharing Series (4 sessions in total) - Connecting the Field, Policy, and Research. This series is scheduled to be held in May (online), June (online), and August (hybrid). The main concept is to "connect the field, research, and policy regarding generative AI, and create a space where participants can feel positive." Also, the event themes from May onwards will not be decided in advance, but will be set according to the needs of the times.
