The main highlight of this special monitor tour is the spectacular, up-close view of Mt. Kurobegoro from an observatory located about a 40-minute hike from the wetland. This is a breathtaking view that can only be seen from this location, which is usually off-limits. This tour is not just a casual walk; the objective is for each participant to experience the land and discover new charms. By sharing realizations and discoveries on-site—such as the plants, the flow of water, and the overwhelming scale of Mt. Kurobegoro—this is a special initiative to find new value in Fukado and co-create ways to utilize the area locally in the future.

During the monitor tour season, Japanese azaleas and Asian skunk cabbage can also be seen.

The Charm of the Nature-Rich Three Wetland Corridor and Fukado Wetland

There are three wetlands in Hida City, each with different characteristics, and they were certified as "Gifu's Treasure" in 2011 as attractive ecotourism excursion fields.

- Fukado Wetland (Kamioka-cho, Hida City)
At an elevation of approximately 1,500m, an excellent primeval forest of subalpine conifers such as spruce, Japanese thuja, and Maries' fir remains. It is a mysterious forest where an inversion phenomenon can be seen, with the primeval forest located lower than the beech and Mongolian oak forests. It is not open to the public, and an entry permit is required.

- Amo Prefectural Nature Park (Kawai-cho, Hida City, and Shirakawa Village)
A wetland where Asian skunk cabbage and Nikko daylilies bloom, and a primeval forest with large beech and Katsura trees standing closely together in the background. Mt. Mominuka, which offers a panoramic view of the Northern Alps, is also a charm of this area.
* Amo Pass, which connects Kawai-cho, Hida City, and Shirakawa Village, was damaged by heavy snow in January 2025 (Reiwa 7). It is currently closed to traffic.

- Ikegahara Wetland (Miyagawa-cho, Hida City)
The largest wetland in the prefecture, covering about 6 hectares. Because the parking lot and boardwalks are well-maintained, strollers and wheelchairs can also be used. You can enjoy a walk while admiring seasonal flowers, and local elementary school students actively participate in PR activities.
