The Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum (hereinafter referred to as the 'Museum') will hold a summer special exhibition titled 'Battle Screen Paintings - Tales of Bravery -' from Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to Sunday, September 6, 2026. This exhibition will introduce the turbulent history from the 'Battle of Komaki and Nagakute', where Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu faced off directly, to the Korean campaigns, the Battle of Sekigahara, and the Siege of Osaka, centering around war screen paintings from the Warring States period. In addition to introducing the production methods and materials used in the dyes of the screen paintings, the newly acquired 'Sekigahara Battle Screen Painting' will also be on display. The exhibition is designed to be visually easy to understand, offering content that can be enjoyed by both serious history fans and families during the summer vacation period. Additionally, on Saturday, August 8, a lecture on the appreciation points of the 'Komaki and Nagakute Battle Screen Painting' will be held as a related event. Through this exhibition and lecture, we will convey the charm and depth of the history told by the war screen paintings of the Warring States period.
