It chronicles the author's journey from being a top-performing rookie to his rise through the ranks in the competitive No. 2 Corporate Sales Department, and his subsequent fall to becoming a criminal defendant in the Olympus scandal, with real names used throughout.

A key feature of the book is that it is not merely a memoir, but a continuous narrative that covers the harsh sales culture of the securities industry during the bubble era, financial practices including structured products and "tobashi" schemes, career competition, and the structure of the scandal that arose from these circumstances.

Author Profile
Mr. Nobumasa Yokoo
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1954. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Kyoto University, he joined Nomura Securities in 1978. He held positions such as manager of the No. 2 Corporate Sales Department and the Shinjuku Nomura Building branch before founding GCI after leaving the company. He was later arrested and indicted in the Olympus accounting fraud case.

Yutaka Yamanaka
An activist investor, art collector, and philanthropist. He is internationally recognized as a tech-savvy activist investor and is noted as the first Japanese person to have built a fortune of over 150 billion yen purely through investment. In the early 2010s, he invested approximately 2 billion yen in NVIDIA, a developer of GPGPU and AI-related semiconductors, achieving a return of over 100 times. He is a graduate of the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Economics, holds a Master's degree in Financial Engineering from Columbia University, and studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is a co-founder and chairman of Shousukabu Dot Com Inc. and a shareholder in over 1,000 public and 200 private companies worldwide.
