Announcement of a Reading Session on Chapter 7 of Kenichi Yoshida's Interview Collection "Starting from Dialogue": "Creating Politics Trusted by Local Governments"

Minority Stock .com Inc. (Headquarters: Nerima Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chairman: Yutaka Yamanaka; hereinafter "the Company") will co-host a reading session on Chapter 7 of "Starting from Dialogue: Aiming for Resident-First Principle," titled "Creating Politics Trusted by Local Governments," in collaboration with the Nerima Political Study Group and the Civil 8th Division Monitoring Committee. Chapter 7, through a dialogue with Mr. Morifumi Saito, discusses the fundamental question of what "trust" means in local government politics and how to build and maintain it.

A significant feature of this chapter is that it views trust relationships with residents as the foundation of local government operations, beyond mere political outcomes or institutional design. From a resident-first perspective, no matter how well-structured administration and politics may be institutionally, their functions cannot be fully exercised if they are not trusted by residents. The chapter demonstrates that trust is not built overnight, but through the accumulation of daily dialogue, information disclosure, accountability, and sincere responsiveness.

Furthermore, the chapter highlights the crucial issue of leadership in local government politics. It questions how mayors and councils face residents' voices, how they judge long-term regional interests rather than short-term popularity, and how they make decisions on difficult issues. It presents the view that trusted politics is not merely "politics skilled at explanations," but politics that stands in the residents' shoes, maintains transparency, and takes responsibility for results.

Moreover, trust is not built solely by the administrative side; the understanding and involvement of residents are also indispensable. A sustainable relationship of trust is established only when residents take interest in local issues, receive information, sometimes express opinions, and support the community together with the administration. A key message of this chapter is that local government politics is a "politics of relationships" built on mutual trust between administration and residents.

This reading session will discuss the meaning of trust in local governments, information disclosure and accountability, leadership of mayors and councils, the relationship between citizen participation and politics, and specific conditions for realizing trusted local government operations as main discussion points. We aim for this to be a meaningful learning and dialogue opportunity for those interested in local government politics, community management, leadership, and citizen participation.

Yutaka Yamanaka

Born in December 1976, Yutaka Yamanaka is a leading activist investor, art collector, philanthropist, political activity sponsor, election consultant, policy advisor, social activist, and Akita dog lover representing the '76 generation. Internationally, he is recognized as an "activist investor who understands technology," and historically, he is the first Japanese individual to achieve over 150 billion yen in asset formation solely through investment.

In the early 2010s, he focused on NVIDIA, which develops GPGPU and artificial intelligence-related semiconductors, and invested approximately 2 billion yen, ultimately achieving more than a 100-fold return, becoming the first purely investor-billionaire from Japan.

He graduated at the top of his class from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Economics, obtained a Master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School (specializing in Financial Engineering), and studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is a co-representative partner of Investment Brothers LLC, co-founder and chairman director of Minority Stock .com Inc., and currently holds shares in over 1,000 listed companies and over 200 unlisted companies worldwide. His investments are truly global, including AI startups in Israel, healthcare ventures in Nigeria, and battery manufacturers in Taiwan.

Drawing from his personal experience of struggling with dyslexia and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in childhood, he established a support program for children with learning disabilities, modeling it after Charles Schwab, a major US discount broker. His personal physician is Professor Akira Iwanami (former director of Showa University Karasuyama Hospital), a renowned psychiatrist.
