Ogawa Coffee Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City; Representative Director and CEO: Yoshinori Uda) will open "Ogawa Coffee Kiyomizu Store" within "MUJI BASE KYOTO kiyomizu," which is scheduled to open on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

At "Ogawa Coffee Sakaimachi Nishiki Store," which opened in 2022, our company has advocated for "a store that will last for 100 years." We offer only ethical coffee, which helps protect the global environment and the livelihoods of producers, the foundation of coffee making, and embody this philosophy in every cup through pour-over brewing, the origin of Japanese coffee culture. The Kiyomizu store will inherit this spirit, valuing honest ingredient selection that is not bound by certification frameworks, and local production for local consumption.

"Cherishing every single bean." Without forgetting the history of earnestly facing coffee, we have expressed our "sincere progress" – moving forward with determination even if imperfect – through a minimalist spatial design. We will deliver a purer experience, along with Kyoto's unique spirit of "omotenashi," that allows participation in social contribution activities through coffee. Please look forward to Ogawa Coffee's new challenge, which will weave a sustainable coffee culture and society with passionate sensibility and profound technology.

|DRINK|Embodying the Philosophy with Ethical Coffee "GRANCA" and Pour-Over Brewing

At the Kiyomizu store, the coffee beans offered will be limited to "GRANCA," which has an ethical background. Through pour-over brewing, we will bring out the original characteristics of the coffee while delivering a rich and mild taste. In addition, in harmony with the ever-changing expressions of Kyoto's streets, we will offer espresso tonic using our house blend "Medium" as a suggestion for the upcoming hot season. It is a refreshing drink with a rich coffee aroma, perfect for the season. Drinks are also available for takeout, so you can enjoy them while strolling through Kiyomizu.

"GRANCA"

Ogawa Coffee has been a pioneer in the full-scale handling of ethical coffee with certifications that help protect the global environment and the livelihoods of producers, the foundation of coffee making, even when its recognition was low in Japan. At the opening of the Sakaimachi Nishiki store, which was born as a base to further promote our sustainable activities through coffee, we newly developed eight types of ethical coffee under the name "GRANCA." We convey "what can be done from a cup of coffee" for a sustainable society, including organic JAS certification and international fair trade certification.
