■ About the Exhibition Vehicle
"Re30 Skyline Silhouette" - Production period: 2.5 months
Students were captivated by the brand power of the Skyline and the "Skyline Super Silhouette" that dominated the race scene in the 1980s. In an era where sedans are becoming less common, they embarked on the production of the "Re30 Skyline Silhouette" with the concept of "bringing back the Super Silhouette of that time." They adopted the 4-door sedan of the Skyline (R30), a representative model of the 1980s, as the base vehicle, aiming to realize a powerful Super Silhouette that also combines practicality in a 4-door.
The "Re" in the car name signifies Reborn (revival / vibrant cars of the 80s), Respect (reverence), and Remake (we remake it). It serves as a nostalgic proposal for people in their 50s and 60s who experienced the Super Silhouette in real-time, while also conveying the energy of motorsports from that era to younger generations unfamiliar with the legendary race.
The front bumper faithfully reproduces the massive front spoiler of the Super Silhouette, and the rear fenders adopt a square shape, boldly widening them. Typically, widening makes door opening and closing difficult, but the students overcame this challenge by ensuring sufficient clearance through their technical skills. This allows for smooth opening and closing, maintaining the car's inherent practical functionality. The position of the taillights was also changed to accommodate the widened fenders.
The interior, with the desire for those who knew the era to feel nostalgia and for younger generations to experience the atmosphere of the time, largely retains its original specifications. The floor mats were custom-ordered with a design that adds flair while suppressing excessive flashiness, to highlight the blue of the seats, with meticulous attention paid even to the edge stitching.
The body color pays homage to the red and black of the Super Silhouette. By adding glitter to the red sections, the students incorporated their unique touch, bringing out a modern appeal amidst the flashiness.
We look forward to your visit.
