Takachiho University Announces New System from 2027: Reducing Entrance Fees from 220,000 Yen to 20,000 Yen

Takachiho University (Suginami Ward, Tokyo; Board Chairperson: Hiroshi Narita) has announced a significant revision to its entrance fees, reducing them from the current 220,000 yen to 20,000 yen starting with the 2027 academic year entrance selections.

Amidst a declining 18-year-old population due to the falling birthrate and intensified competition between universities, the university is proceeding with a renewal of its private university management model, focusing on "reducing the financial burden at the time of admission" and "redesigning educational investment." In this institutional reform, facility fees have been integrated into tuition, and the system design has been reviewed from the perspective of applicants and guardians.

By moving away from the conventional model where a large lump sum is required upon admission and effectively abolishing the entrance fee, the university has leveled the financial burden over the four-year period. Furthermore, the university is developing an educational system that enables cross-disciplinary learning while deepening expertise through the introduction of a new curriculum, and has begun utilizing various SNS platforms as a new communication method to share Takachiho University's initiatives with a broader audience.
