Ren Koyamatsu, a first-year student in the Department of International Studies and a member of the Sports Climbing Team at Setsunan University (President: Yasuyuki Kubo), competed as a representative of Japan in the women's speed climbing event at the 6th Asian Beach Games held in China on April 28. She set a new Japanese women's record of 6.99 seconds, marking the first time a Japanese female athlete has broken the 7-second barrier in official competition. ### About the Setsunan University Sports Climbing Team

Currently, six students are selected as members of the Japanese national team.
