We are pleased to announce that Seijo Girls' High School (Location: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Principal: Jun Koizumi) and Bungakuza Co., Ltd. (Location: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Miyuki Suzuki) have concluded an industry-academia collaboration agreement.

[Background of the Collaboration]

Seijo Girls' High School comprehensively develops educational activities focused on "360° Career Exploration," looking 20 to 30 years ahead for its students. "360°" signifies not only all-around career paths but also all-around skill development. By providing comprehensive education that includes not only academic ability but also inquiry-based learning and the development of non-cognitive skills (such as self-expression and leadership), the school aims to nurture women who will be active and contribute to society.

Bungakuza Co., Ltd., founded in 1937, is one of Japan's leading theater companies, having created numerous acclaimed stages under the philosophy of "creating the charm of theater most closely related to the contemporary human experience." The company has also focused on talent development from an early stage, with its affiliated theater research institute continuously producing talented actors and staff who are active in various fields. These efforts have also extended to education in the non-cognitive skills domain, achieving steady results.

[Overview of the Collaboration]

In this collaboration, Bungakuza's expertise cultivated through theater will be applied to education aimed at enhancing the non-cognitive skills of Seijo Girls' High School students.

In particular, self-expression, especially the "ability to speak in public," is required in any profession and position in the future. As this is linked to various aspects of our school's educational activities, Bungakuza's support is expected to cover a wide range of areas.

As a first step, in the 2026 academic year, Ms. Miyuki Ikuta, a stage director at Bungakuza, and Ms. Sonoko Soeda, an actress, will be invited to conduct year-round classes in the voice class of the "Expression Program," which fosters self-expression. Through theater, students will expand the power inherent in their voices, learning not only vocalization but also how to speak in a way that effectively conveys their thoughts and how to adopt appropriate attitudes (physicality) for various situations.

Furthermore, it is hoped that by exposing high school students to the world and techniques of theater, theatrical culture will spread among the younger generation, increasing their interest in and understanding of performers and staff.
