Globis University Graduate School of Management (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshito Hori; hereinafter "Globis University") held its 2026 Japanese MBA Program Entrance Ceremony on Sunday, March 29, at its Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka campuses, and online. A total of 1,089 students nationwide enrolled in the "Technovate*1 MBA (TMBA)" and "Executive MBA (EMBA)" programs, which commenced in the 2025 academic year. *1 A coined word combining technology and innovation.
Message from President Yoshito Hori In his address, President Yoshito Hori stated, "The number of enrolled students, which was only 78 in 2006, now exceeds 1,000, and we have sent over 10,000 graduates, 'leaders of creation and transformation,' into society. In 2025, we launched two programs, the Technovate MBA and the Executive MBA, and this year marks our 20th anniversary. Globis has become Japan's No. 1 graduate school of management in terms of both scale and reputation. I believe that if each individual establishes a 'will to believe in possibilities,' hones their abilities, and leverages their human network, many things can be achieved."
Growth in Student Enrollment and Expanding Diversity, Supporting Challenges with Scholarship Programs The number of students enrolled in the university's main program, which was 78 at its founding in 2006, reached 1,089 for the Part-time & Online MBA Program (Japanese) in 2026. The total number of graduates now exceeds 10,000, making it Japan's largest business school*2. In recent years, there has been an increase in students from specialized professions such as doctors and lawyers, creative professions such as engineers and designers, and non-profit professions such as NPO staff and public interest corporation staff. To support an environment where diverse talent can learn, various scholarship programs have been expanded. For example, the "Professional Athlete Next Career Support MBA Scholarship" has enabled athletes (such as soccer players) seeking career development after retirement from competition to pursue an MBA as part of their second career formation.
Furthermore, a new scholarship program for individuals in their 20s, the "20s MBA Advancement Support Scholarship," has been established for students enrolling from April 2027 onwards*3. This scholarship aims to encourage young generations to acquire systematic management knowledge and practical skills early on and grow into leaders who can make proactive decisions in a rapidly changing era. It seeks to broaden the base of individuals learning management from the early stages of their careers and further diversify the student body. *2 Reference: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology "List of Professional Graduate Schools for FY2025" *3 Reference Press Release: https://globis.co.jp/news/mba/12525-2026-02-20/
Fostering Next-Generation Leaders with Technovate MBA and Executive MBA In recent years, the evolution of AI and technology has been unprecedentedly rapid. Simultaneously, with changes in the values of the MZ generation, an increase in career options, and a growing need for reskilling in the era of 100-year lifespans, the objectives for learning business have also diversified. To meet these diverse learning needs, Globis University divided its traditional MBA program into two programs from the 2025 academic year: "Technovate MBA (TMBA)" and "Executive MBA (EMBA)." The "TMBA" addresses the need to acquire the ability to implement technology in business, while the "EMBA" responds to the need to develop leadership skills in management.
In addition to being offered at the Tokyo campus and online, the "EMBA" will also be offered at the Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka campuses from the 2026 academic year. This means that the "EMBA" will be available at all domestic campuses, excluding special campuses (Sendai, Yokohama, Mito), establishing a system where management executives and leaders across the country can receive management education. We have already produced 2,061 CxO (executive officer) experienced alumni and will continue to contribute to the development of next-generation leaders.
* TMBA Aims to produce individuals who create new value by mastering the ability to implement technology in business, offering new subjects that cultivate "technology implementation skills" and "creativity."
* EMBA Aims to develop next-generation management talent who can transform themselves and their organizations and take on management roles in the era of 100-year lifespans, offering new subjects that cultivate "self and organizational transformation skills" and "understanding of technology."
Evolving Business School for Better Learning by Deepening AI Utilization Based on its mission to produce "leaders of creation and transformation" for society, Globis University is not only launching TMBA and EMBA but also implementing updates in various aspects to adapt to the times. The generative AI-powered conversational learning system "GAiChaL-2.0 (β version) (GLOBIS AI Chat Learning, abbreviated as GAiChaL)" has been introduced as a review tool for MBA program subjects and is now available to students*4. In addition to the "Basic Accounting" course launched in 2024, the scope has been expanded to include "Basic Finance" and "Critical Thinking" courses from 2025. Students can organize their thought processes and practice hypothesis building and numerical analysis through dialogue with AI. The university is promoting AI utilization not just for knowledge retention but for fostering "thinking skills." Moving forward, the university will continue to evolve its educational content, including expanding the subjects covered by AI-powered learning support.
Furthermore, from 2025, the video learning service "GLOBIS Unlimited" (GLOBIS Manabihodai in Japanese) has been introduced for new students and current students (main program students) of the Japanese MBA program. This allows students to deepen their understanding of what they learned in class by watching 4,600 courses and 19,700 videos (as of March 2026) on "GLOBIS Unlimited" and utilizing its AI feedback and quiz functions*5. *4 Reference: Press Release: https://globis.co.jp/news/mba/10354-2024-07-29/ *5 Reference: Press Release: https://globis.co.jp/news/mba/10774-2024-12-13/
