Gransnow Okuibuki in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture (https://www.okuibuki.co.jp/), which boasts one of the largest scales in the Kansai region, created snow by operating a total of 45 units (8 artificial snow-making machines introduced for the first time in Japan last season at a cost of 1.24 billion yen, and 37 artificial snow machines), achieving a ski resort operation spanning 5 months = 150 days, from the ski resort opening on November 14th to closing on April 12th, the fastest and longest in western Japan.

In addition, through a "major renewal of the rental house", it is now equipped with 5,000 ski and snowboard sets, one of the largest in Japan, which enabled stable equipment rentals without running out of stock. Furthermore, by appropriately implementing "revenue management" aimed at leveling the gap between busy and slow periods on weekdays and weekends, the ski resort recorded sales of 2.02 billion yen (*1) for the first time in its history in the 56th year since its opening in 1970.

Compared to the sales of 333 million yen (54,400 visitors) of Gransnow Okuibuki (formerly Okuibuki Ski Resort) in 1998, when the ski/snowboard population reached its peak of 18 million as an entire ski resort industry, this season increased to 2.02 billion yen (238,676 visitors, about 4.5 times more), which is about 6 times higher. Active capital investment to improve the appeal of the entire facility in recent years, and measures against warm winters and snow shortages and securing a stable amount of snow mainly through snow-making with artificial snow machines and artificial snow-making machines have borne fruit and realized a wonderful boom.

A "major renewal of the rental house" was carried out at a total cost of 980 million yen for the purpose of strengthening the acceptance system and improving the usage environment in line with the recent increase in ski resort users. In addition to being fully equipped with 5,000 sets of ski and snowboard equipment, one of the largest in Japan, it is equipped with 2,500 coin lockers and "clean, comfortable changing rooms and toilets". Along with a review of traffic lines within the facility, two new "escalators" were installed to realize comfortable movement, providing the latest and highly convenient rental environment.

In addition, since last season, "revenue management" (*1) has been introduced to improve the usage environment for customers, alleviate congestion, and level the number of weekday and weekend visitors. Based on the past data of our ski resort, lift ticket prices were adjusted in 4 stages during the slow season at the beginning and end of the season and the busy season such as three-day weekends and high seasons. While "suppressing the number of visitors", we were able to accept customers in a well-balanced manner and realize "reasonable ski resort operations".
