◆Overview

The "Okayama International Student Career Support Program," developed by the National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu), has been certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a "FY2025 International Student Employment Promotion Education Program."

The International Student Employment Promotion Education Program certification system aims to further promote the employment of foreign students in domestic companies. MEXT certifies high-quality education programs that integrally provide "Japanese language education," "career education," and "internships." Graduates of such programs can present a certificate of completion issued by their respective universities during job hunting.

The university's Organization for the Promotion of Education will implement this program starting in FY2026, targeting international students in their 1st to 3rd year of undergraduate studies, and 1st year of master's or early doctoral programs who are aiming to find employment in Japan.

This program consists of Japanese language education, career education, and internships. In the foundational education, which includes Japanese language and career education, students can acquire the business language skills and knowledge necessary for job hunting in Japan. Furthermore, in the practical education, comprising internships and pre/post-guidance, students can accumulate practical experience expected of working professionals and deepen their understanding of the unique culture of Japanese companies. During the internship phase, students will participate in practical training for a total of two weeks or more at local partner companies affiliated with the "Oka-Cari Partnership Consortium" established through this program.

Through the certification of this program, it is expected to promote employment support and regional retention of foreign students, co-create the region together with the students, and establish the university's foundation as an institution that contributes to the local and international community.

Please continue to look forward to the activities of Okayama University, an open, regional core and distinctive research university.
