Overview
Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu) participated in "APAIE (Asia-Pacific Association for International Education) 2026," one of the largest international education exchange events in the Asia-Pacific region, held in Hong Kong from February 23 to 27, 2026.

The event gathered over 3,500 higher education professionals from 72 regions worldwide. Professor Yuichi Oda and Associate Professor Saida Khalmirzaeva from the Institute of Academic and General Education (Global Human Resource Development Center) attended on behalf of the university to discuss promoting inter-university partnerships and student exchanges.

During the conference, they held meetings with existing partner institutions to exchange views on the balance of sending and receiving students and the operational status of exchange programs. They also discussed specific possibilities for expanding future collaboration, including short-term programs, internships, and research exchanges.

Furthermore, they proactively met with candidate institutions for new partnerships, building new connections with several universities, primarily in Europe. Notably, universities such as the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), the University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), Linköping University (Sweden), the University of Salzburg (Austria), and the University of Florence (Italy) showed high interest in the university's exchange program, EPOK (Exchange Program Okayama), leading to positive responses toward signing future agreements.

Through this event, the university was also able to gather information on the latest trends concerning the expansion of English Medium Instruction (EMI) courses and the operation and pricing of short-term programs at universities around the world, gaining valuable insights to improve its own programs.

Based on these insights, Okayama University will continue to strive to improve the quality of its international education, strengthen inter-university partnerships, and enhance the educational environment for cultivating global human resources. Please continue to look forward to the initiatives of Okayama University, an open core regional and unique research university.
