Shikoku Keisoku Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Tadotsu-cho, Nakatado-gun, Kagawa Prefecture / President: Hiroshi Watanabe) has begun sales of two new craft beers from its craft beer brand "Quad K Beer":
- "Zesty Gose," made with Yuzu Kosho from Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture as a secondary ingredient.
- "Oryza," made with Niida Rice from Shimanto Town, Kochi Prefecture as a secondary ingredient.
Going forward, Quad K Beer will continue to plan and develop beers using local agricultural products and specialty items as secondary ingredients, with the aim of revitalizing regions and creating local buzz.
[Product Overview]
Zesty Gose
"Zesty Gose"
Gose is a beer popular in Germany, made by adding salt and coriander to the refreshing sourness of lactic acid bacteria. By adding Yuzu Kosho from Tokushima Prefecture, the refreshing aroma of yuzu and the sharp spiciness of chili peppers remain as a lingering aftertaste amidst the sourness.
Origin of the name: A combination of the English word "Zesty," meaning citrusy flavor, and the beer style "Gose."
Product category: Happoshu (low-malt beer)
Beer style: Gose
Alcohol content: 4%
Ingredients: Malt (manufactured in Germany), lactose, yuzu kosho, hops, salt, coriander
Volume: 330ml bottle
Pairing: Hearty meat dishes such as yakitori and yakiniku, or eel.
Oryza
"Oryza"
This beer uses the rare Niida Rice, "Maboroshi no Kaoru Kome" (legendary fragrant rice), cultivated in Shimanto Town, Kochi Prefecture, as a secondary ingredient.
The rich aroma unique to this fragrant rice results in a lager beer with a profound flavor reminiscent of junmai sake.
Origin of the name: Kochi Prefecture residents are known for being bright and open, described as "Latin-like." From this, we named it "Oryza," which means "rice" in Latin.
Product category: Happoshu (low-malt beer)
Beer style: Lager
Alcohol content: 5%
Ingredients: Malt (manufactured in Germany), rice (from Shimanto Town, Kochi Prefecture), hops, tea leaves
Volume: 330ml bottle

[Features of Quad K Beer Craft Beers]
A key feature is the use of hops processed with our umami-enhancing machine "Umamié※."
The processed hops have a reduced alpha acid content, which is responsible for bitterness, resulting in a mellow flavor. "Quad K Beer" contributes to local revitalization and the promotion of local industries by planning and selling beers made with local agricultural products as secondary ingredients.
※An innovative kitchen appliance that enhances umami by heating the inside of food while cooling its surface using microwaves.
