The Kumano Area Tourism Promotion Committee (secretariat: Regional Development Section, Higashimuro Promotion Bureau, Wakayama Prefecture) has published 'Kumakuma' Vol.15 (July Reiwa 8 issue), a free tourism magazine showcasing the charm of the Kumano area.

This issue, timed for the peak of summer just before 'Wave Day' on July 3 and 'Marine Day' on July 15, features the JR Kisei Main Line 'Kino-Kuni Line,' which runs through the dynamic coastline and deep mountains of the Kii Peninsula. The magazine highlights the breathtaking views from the train between Shinjō Station and Wakayama Station, as well as the artistic station buildings along the route, based on interviews with students from the Wakayama University Kino-Kuni Line Revitalization Project.

The Kino-Kuni Line travels alongside the majestic Pacific Ocean, making it a perfect route for 'Wave Day,' where visitors can enjoy the summer's blue sea and the orange-hued horizon at sunset.
