The fashion project 'saku gan,' led by a team of cross-disciplinary creators (operated by SATETSUMAGAZINE COMMONS, CEO Ayane Imonaka), will hold its first meet-up event on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the music bar 'AKA赫' in Asakusabashi, Tokyo.
On the day, the brand will exhibit its current coat collection along with upcoming pieces, including sets. Attendees will have the opportunity to touch the garments and speak directly with the designers and members, gaining an experiential understanding of the brand’s perspective on the 'relationship between the body and clothing.'
Starting at 7:00 PM, an 'Album Listening Party' will be held by the operating company, featuring records that resonate with the brand's worldview, making it an evening where music, space, and fashion intersect.
Launched at the end of 2025, the brand has already earned recognition from creators in Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Spain through Instagram, without relying on traditional advertising or domestic exhibitions. With plans to expand to Bilbao, Spain, in the autumn of 2026, this event marks the first public reveal of the brand's philosophy and prototypes in Japan.
About saku gan
saku gan is a Japan-based fashion project themed around 'creating clothing that doesn't correct the body, but creates space for the person to exist as they are.'
The brand concept is: 'Artificial force applied to natural materials, and the balance that maintains imbalance.' It explores a 'sculptural silhouette' where opposing forces coexist.
Viewing garments not merely as fashion but as 'wearable architecture,' the project aims for designs that do not limit age, gender, or body type.
All items are currently designed in Japan and produced with an emphasis on time and handwork rather than mass production.
Designer/Pattern Maker Minayo also handles couture production, including costumes for stage and artists.
Team / Creative Background
CEO Ayane Imonaka is an architect who redesigns senior care facilities into spaces like hotels, providing dignity and comfort to often-overlooked environments. Creative Director Daisuke Masuda works in music, culture, and spatial design, including producing music festival experiences for the hearing impaired and sauna facilities based on the theme of a 'utopia for middle-aged men.' Designer/Pattern Maker Minayo pursues clothing design that does not limit the body, creating garments that align with the wearer rather than forcing the body to align with the clothing.
