Participants, comprising members with different strengths—BizDev personnel responsible for business conceptualization and engineering personnel responsible for technical implementation—teamed up and carried out everything from planning and development to verification and presentation within a limited time.

"AI Hackathon Origin 2026" was a 3-day practical hackathon organized by OneRise, co-sponsored by Tech Ocean Inc., MATLyS Inc., and CraftStadium, and supported by product sponsor "Manus AI."

Participants were divided into 16 teams and, in a short period, progressed from conceiving business ideas, organizing user challenges, prototyping products, to preparing presentations, culminating in a final presentation of their achievements.

A major feature of this event was its strong emphasis on "creating businesses," rather than being merely a development contest. The design aimed to integrate not only the technical skills to handle AI tools but also to consider who is being solved for, what value the solution holds, and how it can be implemented in society. Therefore, participation was not limited to engineers; BizDev personnel interested in planning and business development were actively welcomed, aiming for new value creation through their collaboration.

In addition, participants were provided with the Pro plan of the AI agent "ManusAI" throughout the event, creating an environment where AI could be practically utilized in various situations such as prototyping, research, planning organization, and implementation support. Furthermore, consultation time with adult mentors was provided to help each team elevate their ideas into more feasible proposals, moving beyond mere fleeting thoughts.

Background

In recent years, with the spread of generative AI, AI has become a familiar presence for many students and young professionals. However, its utilization often remains limited to auxiliary and fragmented uses, such as "summarizing text" or "generating ideas." While convenient, we have strongly felt the challenge that in many cases, it has not reached the stage of full-scale application for business creation or solving social issues.

OneRise has always focused on providing opportunities for challenges and growth for students and young talent. What emerged from this was the existence of a divide: individuals with good ideas cannot find talent to implement them, and those with excellent technology find it difficult to adopt a business perspective to make it viable. Especially in the AI domain, neither technology alone nor planning alone is sufficient; we believe that valuable products and services are born only when both are integrated.

Therefore, this event was designed as a venue where BizDev personnel and engineers could collaborate to produce serious output in a short period, under the theme of "From 'Casually Using' AI to 'Practically Applying' AI." The goal was not just to acquire knowledge, but to gain experience in connecting AI to real-world problem-solving by actively working, discussing, and trial-and-error. We believe this is the learning and challenge necessary for the coming era.

Furthermore, we aimed for both practicality and continuity, ensuring that the event would not be a one-off, but would enable participants to continue challenging themselves in business creation with AI as their weapon. In an era where more people are using AI, it is crucial to foster talent who can think deeply about "what to create," "why to create it," and "how to deliver it to society," rather than just superficial utilization—this conviction was the starting point for this event.
