DOPENESS, a professional esports team based in Shikoku (Tokushima Prefecture), is pleased to announce that its eFootball division players, 'Nagi' and 'AO,' have been selected for the eFootball Japan National Team.

This announcement was made by the Japan Football Association, and both players have been chosen as members of the Japan National Team aiming to participate in the international tournament 'FIFAe World Cup 2026.'

The tournament is a global esports competition co-hosted by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd., with 'eFootball' as the competitive title.

Approximately 14 million people worldwide and about 970,000 people in Japan participated in the qualifiers for the 2026 tournament. Both players have emerged victorious from these fierce competitions and will now challenge the international stage as representatives of Japan.

The selected Japan National Team consists of a total of 8 members. Nagi and AO will represent the mobile division, aiming for participation in the World Cup through the Asian qualifiers, 'FIFAe Nations League' and 'FIFAe Continental Championship.'
