On Friday, July 10, 2026, a new museum, 'YURAKUCHO MUSEUM', will open at the Tokyo International Forum! As the inaugural project, the 'Not Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition' will be held from Friday, July 10 to Sunday, September 6.

Today, April 24, is the birthday of Pingu's creator, Otmar Gutmann!
On this memorable day, the holding of the 'Not Just Cute!? Pingu Exhibition' has been decided!

Sony Creative Products (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Kimimichi Hirayama), which operates the new cultural hub YURAKUCHO MUSEUM, will deploy an unprecedented exhibition of the stop-motion animation 'Pingu', created by Swiss video artist Otmar Gutmann and whose rights are held by Mattel.

Announced on April 24, which is also Otmar Gutmann's birthday, this exhibition is themed around an 'amusement park'. In addition to exhibiting numerous materials such as valuable clay models actually used in animation production, it is an exhibition to see, touch, and experience the unknown charms of Pingu, such as his rich expressions, unique movements, and the mysteriously understandable 'Pingu language'. Through photo spots where you can enter the world of the work and experiential content you can play with using your body, you can meet a Pingu you haven't known yet.

What is Pingu...
A stop-motion animation created by Swiss video artist Otmar Gutmann.
In 2025, it celebrated its 45th anniversary since the test film serving as the prototype for 'Pingu' was produced in 1980.
Since 1990, the TV series has been broadcast in over 155 countries and regions worldwide, and the warm and humorous story unfolding between the boy penguin 'Pingu' and his friends is loved by people around the world.
