Itsu-mo General Clinic Kobuchi, Marking Its 8th Anniversary and Nearly 80,000 Annual Visits, to Host a Children’s Career Experience Event

Itsu-mo General Clinic Kobuchi, located in Minami Ward, Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is celebrating its 8th anniversary and receives nearly 80,000 patient visits annually. With the support of Sagamihara City, the clinic will co-host the children’s career experience event “Sukusuku Children’s Job Experience Expo” together with the neighboring AEON Sagamihara Shopping Center. The event is being held in gratitude for eight years of supporting local health. It aims to deepen children’s interest in healthcare while enhancing the clinic’s value as a symbol and form of infrastructure within the community. The background of the event is a desire to move from the examination room into the community square. Since opening, the clinic has devoted itself to community healthcare and has been supported by many patients. Through daily interactions with local residents, the clinic developed a strong desire to become more than a place for treatment: it hopes to contribute to the community in broader ways and become a form of emotional infrastructure that makes people feel glad it exists. On the occasion of its 8th anniversary, the clinic has teamed up with nearby AEON Sagamihara to plan an experiential event that supports the future of the next generation, with backing from Sagamihara City. The event will offer more than symbolic experiences. It will provide content that lets children enjoyably experience the practical feel of a medical workplace. Active physicians will demonstrate suturing techniques up close using training dolls, allowing participants to observe a highly practical medical skill. Children will also be able to experience the work of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, including examinations with stethoscopes, blood pressure measurement, and an ointment-mixing activity conducted in cooperation with pharmacists from AEON Pharmacy. A simple photo booth will also be available, where children can wear white coats or nurse uniforms and take commemorative photos as a first step toward imagining themselves as future healthcare professionals. The event, titled “Sukusuku Children’s Job Experience Expo,” will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at AEON Sagamihara Shopping Center, 1F Keyaki Smile Garden. It is co-hosted by Itsu-mo General Clinic and AEON Sagamihara Shopping Center, with support from Sagamihara City. Participation is free, and the event is open to elementary school children and younger, accompanied by guardians. Activities include doctor, nurse, and pharmacist experiences, a suturing procedure demonstration, and a photo booth.
