Ishikari City is full of charm, boasting rich nature, historic townscapes, and abundant food resources. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of its incorporation, Ishikari City is holding the "#Goodishikari Photo Contest" to call for "the good things about Ishikari" that you've discovered in your daily life or travels. We are seeking entries from both professionals and amateurs, capturing Ishikari's scenery and moments that make you want to share them with others. Excellent works will be rewarded with generous local specialty gifts, so we look forward to receiving your wonderful photos.

Background and Objectives

Ishikari City will celebrate its 30th anniversary of incorporation on September 1, 2026. This contest is being held to gather photos of Ishikari City that you find "good" and to rediscover the city's appeal. We welcome photos of all genres, including gourmet food, scenery, landscapes, people, daily life, events, and past memories. Through this contest, we greatly anticipate contributing to the city's image enhancement and public relations by allowing people both within and outside Hokkaido to feel the charm of Ishikari City.

Overview

"#Goodishikari" Photo Contest Application Guidelines This contest will be conducted in two divisions: the Photo Division and the SNS Division. We encourage everyone, professional or amateur, to submit photos capturing Ishikari's scenery or everyday moments from your perspective.

Application Details

Eligibility: Anyone can apply (minors require parental consent).

Application Period: May 18, 2026 – February 15, 2027 (must arrive by the deadline).

Shooting Conditions: Unpublished works taken within Ishikari City within the past 3 years (since April 2023).

Work Regulations:

Works that have won awards in other contests, are currently under application, or are planned for application are not permitted.

Compositing and manipulation are not allowed (brightness, saturation, contrast adjustments, and trimming are permitted).

Creation or editing using generative AI is not permitted.

Works publicly released for commercial purposes (advertisements, etc.) are not permitted (non-profit SNS posts are allowed).

How to Apply

1. Photo Division

Number of entries: Up to 3 per person (composite photos are not allowed).

Digital submission: Submit via the application form on the special website (up to 100MB).

Mail submission: Print in either four-cut, four-cut wide, or A4 size, and mail to the secretariat along with the application form from the special website.

2. SNS Division (Instagram)

Number of entries: Unlimited (up to 1 award per person).

How to post: Post with the designated hashtag "#Goodishikari" and clearly state the "shooting location" in the caption.

Award Announcement

Awards will be announced on the special website in March 2027. The secretariat will contact award winners around the same month via email for the Photo Division and via Instagram direct message for the SNS Division.

Prizes and Benefits

This contest offers prize money for both the Photo Division and the SNS Division.

In addition to prize money, special gifts of Ishikari City's local products will be provided for each award. *Some awards may not include a special gift.* Among the special gifts are local products from Ishikari City that are also available as return gifts for Ishikari City's hometown tax donations.

Judging Method and Results Announcement

The judges will include Mayumi Watanabe, a photographer and representative of "Hokkaido Camera Girls Association," and gan.iwaiwa, who boasts 260,000 Instagram followers. They will conduct a rigorous screening from a professional perspective of photography and SNS posts.
