Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. Hosts Event, 'The 40th Otaru Wine Carnival ~A Freer Wine Experience~' on Saturday, June 27th!

Hokkaido Wine Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otaru City, Hokkaido; President: Kimihiko Shimamura; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") will hold its sponsored event, the "40th Otaru Wine Carnival ~A Freer Wine Experience~" on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

This year, marking the 40th anniversary, the event timing has been moved to "early summer, June." After being held in the shopping streets of Otaru City last year, it will return to its familiar venue for Otaru citizens, the "Hokkaido Wine Headquarters Wine Hill Park (SL Plaza)," for the first time in two years.

Sub-theme: "A Freer Wine Experience"

Following the end of the long winter and the exciting cherry blossom season, comes the fresh greenery of early summer, shining with Hokkaido's unique charm. "Wine Hill," offering a beautiful contrast of sea and mountains with a refreshing breeze, will be the stage for this event.

The sub-theme signifies "allowing everyone, whether they drink alcohol or not, to enjoy a 'free wine style' where they can be the main character."

This year, centered around this sub-theme, we have been preparing plans aiming to create a space where each individual can spend their time comfortably.

For example, we will offer a premium glass for wine connoisseurs, toast with newly released grape juice for wine and non-alcoholic cocktails that can be enjoyed by all ages, and indulge in a variety of gourmet foods. There will also be opportunities to test your luck with the famous "Wine Garapon" attraction and enjoy spectacular stage shows, among other diverse offerings.

Our directly managed store, "Otaru Wine Gallery," will host a "Carnival Limited Special Tour" and the popular "Warehouse Sale" event for bulk purchases.

Please enjoy a new and comfortable 'free wine style' that caters to your individual purposes and enjoyment.

You can purchase premium wines that have won awards at prestigious domestic and international competitions by the glass or by the bottle, and enjoy them luxuriously at dedicated seating.

Furthermore, in this corner, to allow non-drinkers and families to experience the winery, we will be selling the newly released "Tsurunuma Harvest MH Amurensis Grape Juice (720ml)" at a special price of 2,000 yen (tax included), down from the manufacturer's suggested retail price of 2,829 yen (tax included).

The featured food area will host a wide variety of gourmet booths, including local renowned restaurants and popular food trucks, on a scale larger than ever before (compared to previous events).
Local ingredients will be used for gourmet dishes, alongside classic festival menus, exquisite sweets, and delicious coffee that non-drinkers can also enjoy. Including the "Uchu Kuji" (Cosmic Lottery) corner for family fun, a total of 28 stores will be participating.

We will also offer our usual advantageous wine sets. This year, there are two types: "Carnival Limited Fun Wine Set (6 bottles, 5,000 yen tax included)" and "Carnival Limited Aged Treasure Wine Set (6 bottles, 13,000 yen tax included)" featuring a lineup of aged vintages. These will be sold in limited quantities at the Wine Hill venue and at "Otaru Wine Gallery."

■ Spectacular Stage Show to Color Early Summer at Wine Hill ■

The stage will feature passionate singing by Shuta Uesugi, a musician and talent known for "Bugiugi Senmu," echoing across Wine Hill. Additionally, there will be energetic Yosakoi dance performances by "Otaru University of Commerce Shogakubu," a powerful performance by "Tomiko Asahara and Friends Gospel Choir," and the "Otaru Shio Daiko" drumming echoing through the carnival grounds. A lineup of spectacular performances will heat up early summer in Otaru.
