The Maebashi Triathlon Festa Executive Committee (Executive Committee Chairman: Takashi Yoshida), in cooperation with Maebashi City and the Maebashi City Community Development Public Corporation, will hold the "10th Maebashi Triathlon Festa" on September 20, 2026 (Sun).

This event, held in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, is based on the concept of being "Japan's friendliest triathlon event." It marks its 10th anniversary since its first event in 2017, welcoming participants of all ages, including those new to triathlon, children, and individuals with disabilities. In the previous event, participants ranged from 1 to 82 years old. We are committed to creating an event that values the desire to "try it" regardless of age or experience.

Four Reasons Why It's "Japan's Friendliest" by Lowering the "Hurdle" of Triathlon

1 Short Distance Settings for Beginner-Friendly Participation

A triathlon consists of three disciplines: swim, bike, and run. This event features short distances for each discipline, making it a course that even those concerned about their physical strength or new to triathlon can enjoy without overexertion.

2 Abundant Categories for Personalized Challenges

We offer a wide range of categories, including preschoolers, elementary school students, beginners, general participants, para-athletes, and relays, allowing participation according to age, physical strength, and experience.

3 Participation Possible with City Bikes (Commuter Bikes)

While many triathlons require specialized bicycles, this event allows the use of city bikes (commuter bikes). You can challenge yourself in a triathlon with a familiar bicycle without special preparations.

4 Swim Event Held in an Outdoor Pool

The swim event takes place in an outdoor pool at Gunma University. It is highly safe compared to events held in oceans or lakes, providing peace of mind for beginners and families cheering on children.

Refreshing Course with Gunma/Maebashi Nature

For the general, beginner, and relay categories, the course starts at the Gunma University pool, with a bike course along the Tone River and a run course through lush forest paths. You can experience an exhilarating race while enjoying the unique scenery of Maebashi overlooking Mt. Akagi.

For the preschooler, elementary school, and para categories, the competition is held within the Gunma University Aramaki Campus. The course is designed with safety in mind, allowing participants to feel the cheers of family and friends nearby.

Everyone's Cheers Create the Best Challenge

This event is made possible not only by the athletes but also by the efforts of referees, volunteers, staff, sponsoring companies, and all those who offer their support.

Every year, many volunteers, including students, corporate employees, families, and individuals, participate. By supporting the challenging athletes up close, the entire venue shares the excitement of sports.

We are also recruiting volunteers and sponsoring companies to support the event.
