Kyushu's Leading Sauna Facility 'Yulax' Takes on a New Challenge in Fukuoka City

Yulax, widely considered the 'mecca' of sauna in western Japan, is opening its long-awaited second branch. By introducing a mixed-gender sauna, it aims to create a new kind of 'third place' in Japan. We plan to spark a 'Sauna Big Bang' in Fukuoka.

Kyoei Kanko Co., Ltd. (based in Kumamoto, led by CEO Yoshitaka Nishio) will launch a crowdfunding campaign on June 9, 2026, at 12:00, to support the opening of 'Yulax Fukuoka' in Fukuoka City.

Background of the Crowdfunding We are opening our first branch, 'Yulax Fukuoka,' in Imaizumi, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. Simply replicating the Kumamoto facility wouldn't be meaningful. This project is a challenge to take sauna culture to the next stage. Beyond facility setup and service improvements, we want to build connections with supporters even before opening, which is why we are launching this crowdfunding campaign.

Through this project, we aim to expand our circle of supporters and create a new community hub with the local residents. We have prepared exclusive rewards, including limited merchandise and advance usage tickets.

About Yulax Fukuoka The second branch will be a new kind of 'small sanctuary' where people can connect through sauna, bathing, rest, dining, and community. We aim to contribute to Fukuoka's appeal as a place where local residents and tourists can easily gather and interact.

Representative's Comments The concept for Yulax's second branch is 'a sauna where one feels the impermanence of all things.' It is strongly influenced by Akira Kurosawa’s film 'Seven Samurai'—a battle not for victory, but for protection. It features clumsy, incomplete individuals who strive nonetheless. We want to recruit 'samurai saunas' who share this fighting spirit to join us.

Some rewards include tickets for the pre-opening period. Although the exact dates have not been finalized (we plan for a five-day pre-opening), we ask for your understanding as you support our project.
