Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's 70th Anniversary Autumn-Winter Subscription Tickets on Sale June 18!

The Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (Suginami, Tokyo; Board Chair: Kunio Ishizuka) will release subscription tickets for its 70th-anniversary autumn-winter season (October 2026 – March 2027) on Thursday, June 18. The latter half of the 70th-anniversary season features maestros who have collaborated extensively with the orchestra. The Tokyo subscription concerts will open with Kazuki Yamada, who has achieved great success with the Berlin Philharmonic (October). Maestro Ken-ichiro Kobayashi will conduct Smetana’s 'Má vlast' (November). Nodoka Okisawa and pianist Tomoki Sakata will take on Reger's challenging piano concerto (December). The lineup includes works from Germany and Austria, such as Bruckner’s Symphony No. 8 conducted by Principal Conductor Kahchun Wong (January) and Beethoven’s 'Emperor' Concerto and R. Strauss’s 'A Hero’s Life' conducted by former Principal Conductor Pietari Inkinen (March). The Yokohama subscription concerts will feature accessible, famous works. Highlights include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 with Ken-ichiro Kobayashi (October) and the year-end 'Ninth' Symphony conducted by Tetsuro Ban (December). Kahchun Wong will appear three times, conducting Saint-Saëns’s 'Organ Symphony' (November), a New Year Concert (January), and Respighi’s 'Pines of Rome' (March).
