The Fukushima 12 Municipalities Relocation Support Center, operated by the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework Promotion Organization (Director: Retsu Fujisawa), was established on July 1, 2021, to promote relocation and settlement in the 12 municipalities that were subject to evacuation orders following the TEPCO Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident. As the number of people interested in moving to these areas grows, the center is expanding its information outreach and community events. This newsletter provides updates on events, support systems, and local trends. Key topics in this issue include the start of applications for the FY2026 Relocation Support Grant, the launch of new rent and vacant house renovation subsidies, and the opening of applications for entrepreneurship grants. The relocation grant provides 2 million yen for households and 1.2 million yen for individuals, with additional bonuses for families with children under 18 or those taking specific jobs. Furthermore, a partnership with Iris Ohyama provides points to successful applicants. New rent and renovation subsidies have also been introduced to support long-term settlement. Entrepreneurship grants offer up to 4 million yen, with ongoing application support provided by the center.
