What is a Human Rights Defender?
A Human Rights Defender is someone who understands how to protect human rights and takes action accordingly. In this program, participants will learn practical approaches alongside individuals who actively work as defenders.
Today, there is a growing movement—centered on youth generations—toward a society where everyone can live authentically. The success of this movement hinges on the support of adults around them. To become a 'Human Rights Defender' supporting younger generations, we adults must first grasp the fundamentals of human rights.
This two-day program consists of participatory learning activities (workshops) that begin with self-reflection and progress to analyzing the societal structures behind the challenges youth face. Participants will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to realize an inclusive society that respects diversity. The goal is to empower participants to take proactive action in protecting the human rights of youth within their own workplaces and communities.
