Furthermore, this exhibition receives over 20,000 entries each year, combining both brush and pen calligraphy sections. The highest award in the brush calligraphy section, the Kohoh Miya Prize, is accompanied by the 'Kohoh Miya Cup'. Kohoh Miya Cup About Judging Methods, Awards, and Eligibility All works are judged rigorously and impartially. In addition to the Kohoh Miya Prize, individual awards such as the Prime Minister's Award, Nippon Budokan Grand Prize, Speaker of the House of Representatives and President of the House of Councillors Awards, and Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award are selected, along with group awards such as the National Excellent Group Award. There are two categories: 'Brush Calligraphy Section' and 'Pen Calligraphy Section'. Anyone from preschoolers and elementary students to adults can submit entries in either section.
