Ginjiro Sumitani and Hope & Wish Invite Children with Chronic Illnesses to Belluna Dome for 2026

The public interest incorporated association 'Hope & Wish' (Representative Director: Riki Osumi; Chuo-ku, Tokyo), with the cooperation of Saitama Seibu Lions player Ginjiro Sumitani, will host a baseball game invitation and athlete meet-and-greet for children with chronic illnesses and their families over two days in June and September 2026.

■ Fighting Spirit Encourages Children

"As a professional baseball player, I want to engage in activities that contribute to society," said Ginjiro Sumitani, who began working with Hope & Wish in 2015. After learning that over 250,000 children nationwide were battling long-term illnesses, Sumitani decided to use his playing career to contribute to society by initiating continuous support activities, including game invitations and hospital visits.

Reuniting with families who participate annually is a joyous occasion. For these families, the presence of Sumitani, who watches over the children's growth and welcomes them by name, is invaluable. In 2026, he continues to deliver a time where his determination on the field and the children's smiles resonate.
