Kids Engineer 2026 Announcement (Press Invitation)

The Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE) will host 'Kids Engineer 2026' at Pacifico Yokohama for two days, from July 24 (Fri) to July 25 (Sat), 2026, in support of the 'Children's Experience Activity Promotion Declaration' advocated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Kids Engineer is a learning event for elementary school students that has been held since 2008. This year marks the 18th event, which is held alternately in the Yokohama and Nagoya areas, making this the 9th time in Yokohama. This is the first time the event will be held with support from the National Institution for Youth Education. The educational programs offered include 20 'classroom-style programs' where active engineers and university faculty serve as instructors, and 12 'exhibition-style programs' for casual participation. While classroom programs generally require advance registration from June 1 to June 30, some programs will accept walk-ins this year. Through this event, automotive companies and organizations provide various programs, offering children opportunities to engage with science and technology centered on automobiles and mobility. JSAE organizes this event with the hope that children who participate will develop an interest in science and technology and become the engineers who will support Japan's future.
