The Junior Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nishinomiya (Representative Director: Daisuke Hayashi, Location: 4F Nishinomiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bldg., 2-20 Hazukacho, Nishinomiya City) will hold an experiential disaster prevention event, "Bousai Gakko ~Tasuke Ice from Nishinomiya~," for 100 parents and children at the Nishinomiya Municipal Wholesale Market on July 12, 2026 (Sun).
This project is an experiential disaster prevention education project that can only be realized by the Nishinomiya Junior Chamber of Commerce and Industry, through collaboration between "government, disaster prevention experts, private companies, and community organizations." Participants will enjoy learning essential knowledge and skills for disaster situations through a program designed like a school class, including a disaster prevention lecture by the Nishinomiya City Disaster Prevention and Crisis Management Division, hands-on experience with portable toilets, a stretcher relay using clotheslines and blankets, assembly experience of cardboard beds used in evacuation centers, VR drone experience for supply delivery (a rare opportunity in the Kansai region), and a cooking/emergency food experience led by disaster prevention experts.
Furthermore, at the end of the event, families will create a "Tasuke Ice (Family Disaster Prevention MAP)" while confirming evacuation sites, meeting points, communication methods, and emergency supplies. This aims to not only conclude the day's learning at the event but also to encourage discussions about disaster prevention at home and in daily life.
A key feature of this project is that it is "experiential disaster prevention" rather than "observational disaster prevention." By incorporating gamification and hands-on activities, we have created a program where children can actively participate and understand disaster prevention as something close to them. It also establishes a system where the entire community nurtures the children who will lead the future, with government, disaster prevention experts, private companies, and community organizations bringing their respective expertise.
Through this project, the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nishinomiya aims to provide an opportunity for children to grow from "people who are helped" to "people who help," and to serve as a new disaster prevention education model connecting parents, the community, and the government, originating from Nishinomiya and spreading nationwide.
