Junior Chamber International Japan Kinki District Kyoto Block Council (2026 President: Kazuki Matsumiya) will hold the "54th Kyoto Block Convention Ayabe Assembly" on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Ayabe City.
This convention, with the slogan "KYOTO x Remix - Kyoto's Potential (Treasures), Gather Here!", is an attempt to bring together the wonderful resources scattered throughout the prefecture in one place. It aims not merely to line up regional resources, but to transform the entire venue into a giant "editing (remix) space" by gathering food, local products, and people with different backgrounds from various parts of the prefecture that are usually in separate locations. This fosters new value and reveals a new image of Kyoto through the resonance of individual charms. By immersing ourselves in a scene where many regional resources are arranged, we can objectively re-examine our own region and recognize its uniqueness. By comparing it with the charms of other regions and encountering external perspectives, our familiar daily lives transform into "pride," and the fun of the region is rediscovered.
Through the enthusiasm generated by the diverse charms of the regions coming together and resonating with each other, we aim to present the depth and new possibilities of Kyoto to visitors, and to create a place that contributes to the development of a sustainable local community.
●Background of the Project
Kyoto Prefecture, where we live, from north to south, has many charms such as history, traditional culture, unique regional resources, and landscapes in each area. However, due to the decline in community functions, the decrease in opportunities for local interaction and the weakening of interpersonal relationships have led to a decline in local patriotism, and regional resources such as charms rooted in the region and traditional culture are being lost. Each prefectural resident needs to grow into a human resource who actively contributes to the development of their own region, even amidst population decline and increasing societal diversity.

■What is Junior Chamber (Kinki District Council)?
We, Junior Chamber (abbr. "JC"), were founded in 1949 (Showa 24) by young people who shared the aspiration that "the reconstruction of New Japan is the work of youth," amidst the deep scars of war remaining in both cities and people's hearts.
Since then, Junior Chamber has upheld the philosophy of "realizing a bright and prosperous society" and has engaged in various activities and movements. It is composed of members who join voluntarily, regardless of race, nationality, gender, occupation, or religion. Junior Chamber Japan's activities are based on "individual training," "service to society," and "friendship with the world." We work to foster mutual enlightenment and exchange among members, cultivate public spirit, and contribute to social development through collaboration with local communities, actively addressing social issues. The fields of activity where members gain practical training in Junior Chamber are diverse, and many individuals, including those who graduate at age 40, not only play active roles as regional leaders but also contribute talent to political and business circles.
Junior Chamber International Japan Kinki District Council operates in the 2 prefectures and 4 other prefectures within the Kinki region, serving as a liaison and coordination body to ensure the smooth operation of local Junior Chambers, and is an organization that develops various movements within the Kinki region.
