The Akashi Junior Chamber (President: Kenta Nagai; Location: 2F Akashi Chamber of Commerce, 1-2-1 Daimaishi-cho, Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture) will host a practical project titled 'That Action Turns Coincidence into Strategy' on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Castle Plaza Hotel 3F. The guest speaker will be Chiharu Fukui, President of Veap Japan Co., Ltd. Based on the Planned Happenstance Theory, the session will explore how to connect learning and encounters to self-growth and new challenges.

A person's career and growth are not built on planning alone. How one assigns meaning to unexpected encounters and experiences and connects them to the next step significantly alters future possibilities. In this program, we will learn perspectives to ensure that such 'coincidences' do not end as mere events but lead to one's own growth and achievements.

On the day, in addition to the lecture, a workshop will be held in three steps: 'Facing Coincidence,' 'Thinking about Future Actions,' and 'Verbalizing Actions to Turn Coincidence into Results,' while reflecting on unexpected events participants have experienced. The goal is not only to look back on experiences but also to re-examine how to engage with learning and encounter opportunities in the future and connect them to action.

Through this project, we aim to provide an opportunity for participants to engage proactively with a perspective of 'how to link this to my own growth,' rather than just attending learning and meeting sessions as passive participants.

● Background of the Project
While there are many opportunities for learning and encounters, the guidelines for how to utilize them and link them to results or growth are not necessarily sufficiently verbalized. Therefore, even when great opportunities exist, they often end in passive participation, making it difficult to link them to personal growth or the next challenge.
In this project, we use Planned Happenstance Theory as a starting point to consider how to perceive accidental events and what actions can transform them into valuable experiences. Through lectures and workshops, the goal is for each participant to re-examine their own experiences and shift their awareness toward proactive engagement in learning and encounters.

■ About Junior Chamber (Kinki District Council)
The Junior Chamber (abbreviated as 'JC') was established in 1949 by young people with the shared ambition that 'the reconstruction of a new Japan is the work of the youth,' amidst the deep scars of war on cities and hearts. Since then, JC has carried out various activities under the philosophy of 'realizing a bright and prosperous society.' Members are individuals who have joined of their own free will regardless of race, nationality, gender, occupation, or religion. Japanese JCs base their activities on 'Individual Training,' 'Service to Society,' and 'Friendship with the World,' aiming for mutual enlightenment and exchange, fostering public spirit, and contributing to social development through collaboration with local communities while actively addressing social issues. Those who have experienced various practical training in the Junior Chamber work in a wide range of fields, and upon graduating at age 40, they continue to be active as local leaders and have produced many talents for the political and business worlds. The Junior Chamber International Japan Kinki District Council operates in the Kinki region (two urban prefectures and four prefectures), functioning as a coordinating body to ensure smooth operation of local JCs while developing various movements within the Kinki region.
