In 2011, we started with a defined activity period of 20 years.
At the time, Representative Director Imamura, having seen the disaster-affected areas in Tohoku, felt that she wanted to support the children of Tohoku, but realized the issues were too large for a single organization to manage alone. She reached out to multiple support organizations, and we began our work through trial and error.
In Tohoku, many child support organizations were born in the wake of the earthquake and continue their activities today.
Ten years after we began, believing that adults to support children would be needed for a long time to come, we newly established a policy to focus grants on organizations rooted in the Tohoku region that support children.
We will continue to support these Tohoku-based organizations, which face challenges while cherishing each child, together with your warm support and donations.
[About Hatachi Kikin]
Under the concept of "Until the babies who were 0 years old at the time of the East Japan Earthquake reach the age of 20," this is a fund that continuously supports the learning and self-reliance of children in disaster-affected areas for 20 years, starting immediately after the earthquake. We also aim to contribute to the reconstruction of Tohoku by creating mechanisms and knowledge that will become new standards for Tohoku and Japan, without being bound by existing customs or frameworks.
The activities of Hatachi Kikin and its grant recipients are only possible thanks to your donations. We still need your support to resolve issues unique to the disaster-affected regions. We sincerely ask you to join us in supporting these children.
