The Furusato Kaiki & Regional Exchange Promotion Organization (Chiyoda City, Tokyo; President Koji Takahashi), a public interest incorporated foundation that supports relocation in partnership with municipalities nationwide, will host the 4th edition of the 'Theme-Based Moving Fair 2026 & Satoyama Collaboration Team Fair' on July 4 (Saturday).
This event will feature 230 municipalities and organizations from across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Instead of searching by region name, participants can discover their ideal community based on personal themes such as 'prioritizing child-rearing environments,' 'wanting to start a business,' 'dreaming of island life,' or 'interested in joining the Satoyama Collaboration Team.'

Background of the Event
As lifestyles and workstyles become increasingly diverse, more people are considering relocating to rural areas rich in nature. However, it is not easy to identify the right municipality from Japan’s 1,718 cities, towns, and villages that can fulfill one’s ideal way of life.
To address this challenge, we have created an event where attendees can explore regions based on personal interests—even without knowing specific place names. We aim to foster new connections between prospective movers and communities through this event.
≪Recommended For≫
• Interested in moving but unsure which municipalities to research
• Want to explore multiple regions at once
• Seeking a place where you can pursue your passions
Whether you’re just beginning to consider relocation or are actively preparing, anyone is welcome. Feel free to consult with representatives in a conversational manner about questions such as 'What kind of life can I lead after moving?' or 'What initiatives are being implemented in your region?'
