## Yamagata Prefecture to Host 'Yamagata Migration & Exchange Fair 2026' on June 13

The Furusato Kaiki Shien Center (JOIN), a public interest incorporated association supporting relocation from urban areas to regional Japan, will co-host the 'Yamagata Migration & Exchange Fair 2026' on Saturday, June 13, in partnership with the Furusato Yamagata Migration & Settlement Promotion Center and Yamagata Prefecture.

This event is designed for anyone interested in Yamagata, whether they have family ties, wish to connect with the prefecture, or are simply curious about regional migration. The fair serves as Yamagata's largest matching event, bringing together various municipalities and organizations from across the prefecture. The theme for this year is "Let's go meet Yamagata!"

- **Date**: Saturday, June 13, 2026, 10:30 - 16:30 (Last admission 16:00)
- **Venue**: Diamond Hall, 12F Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan (2-10-1 Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)
- **Access**: 1-minute walk from JR Yurakucho Station, Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, 3-minute walk from Ginza Station.
- **Fee**: Free (Workshops are 500 yen each)

#### Consultation Booths
Representatives and relocation coordinators from 34 municipalities in Yamagata will be present to answer questions about local characteristics and support systems. 17 support organizations will also exhibit, providing information on employment, housing, and agricultural/forestry sectors.

#### Workshops
Participants can experience Yamagata's traditional culture, including:
- **Candle painting**: Create your own original decorative candle.
- **"Otaka-poppo" painting**: Painting a traditional folk toy from Yonezawa City.
- **Shogi kashi-goma**: Experience writing characters with lacquer on Shogi pieces, a craft famous in Tendo City.
- **Shinjo Kameaya-ori bookmark making**: Experience the texture of historical silk textiles.

#### Additional Programs
- **Exhibitor PR Session**: Each municipality and organization delivers a one-minute high-energy promotion.
- **Pop-up Antenna Shop**: Delicious products from Yamagata, provided by the Ginza-based "Oishii Yamagata Plaza."
- **Resource Corner**: Comprehensive information on housing, child-rearing, and daily life in Yamagata.

### Registration Incentives
Those who pre-register by June 10, 23:59, and complete an individual consultation at one or more booths on the day will receive a gift of "Yamagata Prefecture Cherries." All attendees will also receive a bottle of "Delicious Yamagata Water."
