Shinkokai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative: Masue Takada; hereinafter "the Company") will open a new base for its home care service "Home Instead Japan" in Sakae Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

This new base aims to develop a new service model that provides integrated life support beyond the framework of existing systems, offering home support that combines long-term care insurance, disability welfare, and private services, with the premise of covering the entire Kanagawa Prefecture.

■ The State of Home Support and This Initiative

With the advancement of an aging society, the needs for care and support continue to diversify.

On the other hand, current support systems are fragmented into long-term care insurance, disability welfare, and private services, requiring users to select each individually.

The Company has been responsible for the Japanese expansion of "Home Instead," a home care service for the elderly originating from the United States, providing services that support living in familiar homes through daily life assistance, monitoring, and accompaniment for outings.

Five years have passed since the start of operations, and through operations in Nishi Ward, Yokohama City, and Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, we have realized the necessity of support that transcends the boundaries of existing systems.

With the opening of this new base, we will establish a flexible support system designed to cover the entire Kanagawa Prefecture.

■ Regional Characteristics and Service Direction

Sakae Ward, Yokohama City, where the base is located, has the highest aging rate in Yokohama City (approximately 31%) while having a relatively low long-term care certification rate (approximately 16%).

In such regions, precisely because there are many highly independent elderly individuals, there is a growing need to continue living in their own homes for a long time by supporting their lives from the stages before and after care becomes necessary.

At the Company, a care coordinator is assigned to each user to provide continuous follow-up.

Staff members continuously receive training based on international standards to maintain and improve service quality.

Furthermore, by collaborating with various professionals such as care managers and support counselors, we realize a comprehensive care system.

We also provide integrated support in cases requiring assistance across multiple systems, such as households where elderly parents and disabled children live together.

■ Future Developments and Wide-Area Coverage

The target areas include Sakae Ward, Yokohama City, as well as Konan Ward, Totsuka Ward, Isogo Ward, Kamakura City, and Fujisawa City, with private services flexibly responding to other areas within Kanagawa Prefecture.

Approximately 80 registered helpers and administrators/counselors collaborate to establish a 24-hour, 365-day support system.

"Home Instead Setagaya" is also operated by the Company, providing community-based services in Setagaya.

This Kanagawa base will leverage the expertise cultivated so far to expand its coverage area and service offerings.

In the future, we aim to expand at least one base in each prefecture within five years, eventually expanding the business to a maximum of 200 bases nationwide.
