This festival, held relatively early in the year, features firework masters selected from all over Japan, from as far north as Akita Prefecture to as far south as Kagoshima Prefecture, who dedicate fireworks to the shrine and display the results of their daily practice in the night sky of the sacred city of Ise. It is also a place where firework masters pray for safety in the coming year.
