Kyoto Prefecture is actively seeking public applicants for its 'Gender Equality Council' to promote a society where all genders respect each other's human rights and share responsibilities. The application period runs from May 18 to June 18, 2026. The prefecture aims to recruit two public members who are 18 years or older, reside, work, or study in Kyoto, and have a keen interest in gender equality policies. Applicants must submit a motivation letter and a short essay outlining their proposals for realizing a gender-equal society. The selected members will serve a two-year term starting July 20, 2026, attending one to three meetings annually with compensation and travel expenses provided.
