From Kyoto to the World: Exhibiting at Viva Technology 2026, Europe's Largest Startup Conference

The Kyoto Prefectural Government, Kyoto City, and the Kyoto Knowledge Industry Creation Forest (a general incorporated association) will exhibit at Viva Technology 2026 (hereafter "VivaTech"), Europe's largest startup conference held in Paris, France in June 2026, with the aim of strengthening the startup ecosystem and promoting global expansion.

By participating in the "JAPAN VILLAGE" in collaboration with domestic local governments, companies, and JETRO, this exhibition will showcase cutting-edge technologies and services from Kyoto-based startups to the world, while also creating international business partnerships and investment opportunities.

Exhibition Overview

(1) Exhibition Content
A Kyoto booth will be set up within the "JAPAN VILLAGE," featuring exhibitions and pitches by selected startups. The event will also create business meeting opportunities with overseas investors and companies to support market entry.

(2) Presentations on the JETRO Pitch Stage
During the event, the following Kyoto-related sessions will be held on the JETRO pitch stage:
① Introduction of initiatives and open innovation case studies by HORIBA FRANCE SAS, a group company of HORIBA, Ltd. (June 17)
② Introduction of the Kyoto startup ecosystem initiatives (local government pitch) (June 18)
③ Pitches and business introductions by the four exhibiting startups (June 17 & 19)

Future Developments

Leveraging the strengths of its concentration of universities, research institutions, and companies, Kyoto is promoting the creation and nurturing of startups. Through this initiative, the region aims to accelerate challenges in the global market, foster innovation originating from Kyoto, and enhance its international presence.
