Xiaofengkou Parking Lot Closed for Qilai Mountain House Construction Material Lifting

The National Park Administration (NPA) stated that due to the second phase of material lifting operations for the construction of the Qilai Mountain House, and considering the risk of falling materials during the lifting process, entry applications for the Qilai North Peak, Qilai East Ridge, Qilai Ridge, and Qilai Peaks routes will be suspended from April 1st to 19th. Additionally, to facilitate helicopter parking and material placement, the lower parking lot at Xiaofengkou will be closed from today until the 18th. The NPA stated that this is the final batch of material lifting, and the official opening time will be announced separately after assembly and subsequent inspection and trial operations. The Qilai Ridge Mountain House has been in use for over 30 years. Due to outdated facilities and limited capacity, the NPA plans to build a medium-sized mountain house about 50 meters north of the old one, equipped with facilities such as a drying room, kitchen, lounge, eco-toilet, and bear-proof cabinet, which can accommodate 38 people.
